I dyed my hair black multiple times, and within the month it will be brown and fading still. I've had blond in my hair after a month from the last time I dyed my hair. It was dyed black TWICE previously. I've tried plenty of colors and different types of hair dye, but none of them stay. I use shampoos and conditioners specifically for dyed hair, try to avoid the sun as much as humanly possible, and only wash my hair every other day instead of every day. I've asked so many people what I can do about this and most things I've heard I've tried already. Does anyone have any different suggestions?

I had my hair dyed blue before I cut it, and what causes color to fade fast is shampoo actually. Shampoo is made up of harsh detergents that clean by stripping your hair of everything on it, the beneficial oil and your hair color that you don't want to get rid of goes along with the dirt that you DO want to get rid of. What I did to combat that was to not use shampoo. Conditioner actually contains ingredients that clean your hair, so shampoo really isn't necessary unless you use lots of product like gel or something. So try going without shampoo if you can, or using it every other wash or something, and your color will probably last longer.

i would suggest using a high quality dye from sally's beauty supply. also...son't shampoo daily, unless your hair is super oily, even then...you can use baby powder on your scalp instead;)
