Hair streaking kit cap is missing?

any tips on how to streak blond highlights into my hair using something other than the hat they provide in the box. The hat must of fell out on way home as I have searched everywhere.. I cant go out to buy another there just isnt time... Any ideas what i can use instead that i might have in the home anyway?? The hat that comes in the box is thick plastic waterproof thing you tie on your head with lots of small holes everywhere. the idea is to pull strands of hair through these holes and paste on the highlightning paste

You should really just go back to the store and return it or even exchange it for another one. Shouldn't be a problem really.

If you should try to do it without, you could end up getting anything from leopard like yellow/orange spots on your hair from the bleach leaking thru whatever other method you come up with from this forum. Doing foils yourself isn't recommended either because even as a professional it takes me some skill to do my own, and yes I have messed my own up when I first tried it. BTW, if they won't exchange it for whatever reason, you can always go to Sally's beauty supply and buy a single use cap cheaply.

You can put highlights in using tin foil, but if you have no experience of doing this I would wait until you can get a cap.

Yeah use foil, and that way u can do it in chunks instead of small strands.

I'd go and get a new cap. You could try going to a salon and asking for a streaking cap, I don't think they'd have any objections to giving/selling you one. Alternatively, you could use foils, but it really depends on how experienced you are with them. Either way, you should get somebody to help you out, cap or not, because it can be a pain in the backside getting it even and neat. :]

Personally i would go back to the shop and tell them the cap was missing, can it please be replaced! I cant think of anything that can be used as a cap subsitute. There is the foil application you could try, which will be quite difficalt if you have not done this before. You could always give it a go though or ask for a replacment cap.
