i really really suggest you go to a proffessional. there are millions of people out there who made the mistake of trying to highlight their own hair- dont become one of them.

just shell out the extra money for a proffessional to do it, and i guarantee you'll be much happier in the end.

=)

I have learned not to let anyone, but a professional do my highlights. Trust me!

Don't do it!

You can actually get better results with brush on, as it will be closer to your scalp. Try a Loreal product and grab a good friend and a mirror.

you get what you pay for.... if you want hair that looks cheap feel free to do it yourself. Just go the hair color aisle at Wally-world and look for a cheap product that includes the cap then rip your hair up thru it making sure to tear it and get it too heavy in different areas and enjoy your new cheap look!

i deffinately agree with all the others, you should seek professional help. it may be costly, but it is so much more safe and worth it in the end!

don't bother. box colors have the complete wrong PH balance, way too much bleach %26amp; the colors never come out as expected. if you don't want to pay salon prices go to a hair academy and have it done. it's like....20$.

Highlighting my own hair?

I recently started to color my own hair and it is way easier then people think. For 5 years I was paying $150 every 6 weeks to get my hair colored and then I moved away from my colorist and haven't found anyone else like her. So i decided to do it myself. I went to Sally's and bought bleach the first time and touched up my highlights. The easiest way to do it is to buy the highlight wands they almost look like mascara applicators but bigger. You just grab the blond hairs and hold them up and dip the wand into the bleach and brush it through. You can buy the bleach sets too anywhere from $10-$20. I graduated to a brush applicator and I do all colors in my hair. I am always getting people asking me to do their hair. There is nothing wrong with trying. go to Google video and search for DIY highlights. Just don't buy walmart boxed up dyes. Get the pro stuff from a beauty supply. They will answer questions for you too. =) Good luck.
