Black women and their hair?

Last night at work a black temp arrived and she was just the joke on everyones lips all night. She had her hair died blond and had green contacts in her eyes. I'm just curious, why would a black woman attempt to have white cosmetic characteristics. I can understand wanting a change. As women we all want that. But why specifically white cosmetic characteristics.

Black women and their hair?

I think a lot of you are being a little hard on this lady, here. She asked because it was so apparent that the other lady, the temp; looked out of place. She did not judge her as a person or her race as bad; just her appearance as being odd. Yes, I have seen many white people who dress or make up outrageously too, so it does beg the question doesn't it? On the other hand, if she had been rude enough to laugh at her or insult her, I could see your point. I took it that she kept it to herself and just wondered about it.

Black women and their hair?

Simple enough, she felt comfortable wearing green contact and having blond hair. She wanted attention and she got it. My thing is instead of talking about her, admire her ability to stand out and be different. She just wants to break the perception that only white ppl have blond hair and green eyes. Report It

Black women and their hair?

i think that instead of talking about this woman u should add a little taste to ur look like she did Report It

Black women and their hair?

the same reason why some white females try to get lip injections,butt/boobs impants Report It

Black women and their hair?

I dunno but that is sooo annoying!

Black women and their hair?

What color could she dye it that wouldnt be considered white?

Black women and their hair?

Let's think about this, why is it that now, white women want what black women have - a big butt, full lips - I noticed that it took a Puerto Rican woman (J-Lo) to make big butts popular and a white woman (A. Jolie) to make full lips popular; so don't hate b/c black women want to adopt some attributes that whites have.

In response to the "don't hate" comment from the author: Well dear, that's what it sounds like to me, sounds also like you were offended by a black woman who has her own way of presenting herself to the world. Don't put it out there if you don't want comment and criticism.

Black women and their hair?

You spelled dyed wrong..that is her business if she wants to do that. Hey...why do white women get collagen injected into their flat lips, fake tans to look darker, and butt implants. Who are they trying to be like??

Dont laugh at people because someone may be laughing at you too, hahahahaha.

Black women and their hair?

It doesn't annoy me. Every woman has the right to do whatever she wants in order to feel good about herself. Nobody should comment about anything because it's none of anybody's business and should respect people the way they are!!

Black women and their hair?

well why in the world would white women get corn rows/rolls whatever you want to call them or dread locks in their hari?

did you ever think that she might be biracial/multiracial? and not entirely all black?

not all black people have "black" characteristics for example one of my friends that is black has purple eyes and another has blue eyes. If she chose to dye her hair blond and wear green contacts why would peple talk bad about her?

WAS EVE on everyones lips when she decided to go blonde?

Black women and their hair?

I'm black and I would never go that far, brown hair and gray contacts maybe but not blond hair and blue eyes. The truth is that some black people want to be accepted by white people so bad that they'll do anything, but we'll always be just a bunch of monkeys to them and that's why I'm pro me and nothing else.

Black women and their hair?

Because blonds have more fun, or have you never heard that.

Black women and their hair?

maybe next time, you can tell her the color you want her to use---after all, you seem like an expert.....Ever hear of "to each his own"? You need to respect people as individuals and not always focus on the outside.

Black women and their hair?

Why not it's her opinion the color she wants it to be. How come white girls with naturally blond hair die there hair black? Look at Britney Spears she's a brunette now. So whats the difference?

Black women and their hair?

The same reason why white people want to get corn rows.

Black women and their hair?

I don't think it has anything to do with it being a racial issue. Like you said we all want change and women especially are very chameleon like with their appearance. A womans creativity and their perogative to change is a most appealing aspect that most men do not seem to possess. Those men who do possess that ability are usually labeled questionable about their own sexuality. I am not making this a sexuality issue but am just offering up a contrast in comaprisons.

Black women and their hair?

Its not so wanting to be WHITE as it is different...imagine if all white girls had blonde hair and blue eyes...wouldnt you attempt to do something different? Black women that put in different color contacts draw immediate attention to themselves..ofcourse petty white girls like your self get jealous..but the men LOVE it

Black women and their hair?

I think she had to look appropriate for the temp agency to even send her out to the job site. She is obviously just as qualified to do the job as you and your co workers. And she was the joke on everyone's lips all night huh??? Where do you all work?? Sounds like a bunch of women and definately some major "hating" going on in the work place. Come on ladies, stay professional!!! Let that lady be who she wants to be and just keep your man in check when he's all in her face!! LOL Get some confidence!!!

Black women and their hair?

Well, as long as im not the one lookin lyk that im ok wit it

Black women and their hair?

I would say... it's the same as white women wanting to get a tan, lip injections and butt implants.... SIMPLE!!!!!!

Black women and their hair?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say she just wanted to a different look... DUH!!! Whose to say if she wanted "white cosmetic characteristics"? One of my friend's wear blue contacts, and she is DEFINITELY afrocentric. Sometimes people just want to try different things... doesn't mean that it's bad. We're all entitled to do what makes us feel good even if others accuse us of having racial identity issues.

Black women and their hair?

It's no different than others races getting their hair braided wearing hip-hop gear, dreads, etc. people just want a change of pace.
