I went to get my hair dyed a few months ago.. my natural colour is dark brown/ black.. and i asked for some brown hilights ... it came up as platinum blonde and all the person said was sorry its a little lighter than I thought it would be.. so i had to dye it myself.. anyways go with a slightly darker haircolour.. if you want light brown go for a bit darker.. and it will look great!

Usually if you don't leave the dye on long enough or if you're trying to lighten naturally darker hair, it turns out that orange brassy color.

If i were you, I would go to a salon and have them professionally color it. When I dye my hair dark, I do it myself but when lightening it, I always see a professional. They can get it the tone i like without damaging my hair. A salon will be able to get rid of the orange by either re-coloring it or using a toner, which will get rid of the orange but is less harsh than dying it yourself.

You could try the ash blonde-- but I wouldn't reccomend it since you just bleached your hair. It can do a lot of damage and might cause breakage. I'd wait atleast a week before you try it on your own. But definitely stick with ash/neutral tones to prevent having the orange/gold look.

Another thing you can do-- is contact a Sally's Beauty Supply store. You can find a location near you on their website. You could go visit one in your area or call them and a lot of times, they can give you tips and advice on what to do with your hair. They have a shampoo there specifically made to take the brasiness out of blonde hair-- it's called Shimmer Lights. It's a purple shampoo-- it works really well. It might not help depending how orange your hair is, but I use it once a week when i'm blonde just to keep it from turning that yucky orange color. http://www.sallybeauty.com

i've bleached my hair many times. and its normal for your hair to be orange, it's likely you didn't leave the bleach on long enough. when you dye your hair it might be a darker shade of ash blonde depending on how dark the shade of orange you have. if you're worried about it not being light enough, wait a few days and bleach it again. you're hair will turn yellow or white depending on the time you leave the bleach on. hope i helped! oh and remember to do some deep conditioning so you can restore your hair.

hi the simple answer is that you need to use a toner after you have bleached your hair to give you the colour you wanted

go to a Sallys store or a good chemist buy the colour toner you want and hey presto problems solved

the only reason for that is your hair take quicker to bleach in spots than others like my baby hair when i bleach it turns light really fast than the rest of my hair but it will be light brown but in the spots that it turned lighter from the bleach thats going to be a lighter brown

and about the damaging hair part after bleaching it if you put a aghogee treatment on your hair or aphogee balancing moisturizer it will help your hair from breaking off
